► Gua Sha ‘Above, Through and Below’ Rule

The zone of initial application should be above the area to be treated. On completion, petechiae should extend to the zone below the area to be treated.
Yellow – area to apply Gua sha
Orange – area of pain
This is called the ‘above, through and below’ rule. This rule does not mean the stroke itself should be longer than 4–6”. A longer stroke discourages raising of sha.
