Why brass?

Brass is a copper alloy (copper + zink), and copper is believed to possess healing properties. It is good for drawing "the heat" out of the body.

Metal gua sha tools are obviously better than stone and ox horn (the best choice are stainless steel tools). They have a better resonation with the hands of therapist and can be sterilized even in an autoclave.

Why this kind of scraper?

Specifically this tool has plenty of curves which you can utilize on different body parts. There is also a rectangle brass scraper, but it lacks some curvy lines.

Things to know

Brass tarnishes quite quickly. It's not a big deal but you have to know about that.
There are two simple ways, however, how to make it shine again.

First Option to Clean Your Copper Gua Sha Tool

Dissolve a teaspoon of salt into one-half cup of vinegar, add flour to turn the mixture into a paste. Rub the brass with this mixture, leave for about 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water and buff dry.

Second option

Just boil it in the salty water. The first options is preferable, however, because the shine keeps longer in this case.

Size of this gua sha instrument

It is not large enough, so for big hands it might not be the best buy.

The tools is 0.16 in. (4 mm) thick, 4.8" (122 mm) long, and 1.38" (35 mm) wide.

It weighs 1.94 oz (55 grams).
